Notice: DummyHotelTicket provides travel documentation and reservation vouchers for itinerary planning and visa application reference. It is not an advance prepaid room booking. Check the official consulate checklist for your specific jurisdiction before submission.
Applying for a France Schengen visa to visit Paris? Schengen applications ask for proof of accommodation, and consulates can ask follow-up questions if your documents do not agree with each other. This guide covers what to prepare, how to keep your file consistent, and where a hotel reservation PDF fits in. A dummy hotel booking is a reservation document, not a paid or confirmed stay. Always check your consulate’s checklist first.
Which Schengen country should you apply to?
Apply to the country where you will spend the most nights. If your nights are equal, apply to the country you enter first. If Paris is your main stop, France is normally the right consulate. Submit your application through the official channel for France, starting at France-Visas, and follow the instructions for your application centre.
What your accommodation proof should show
- Your full name as in your passport
- The hotel name, address and contact details
- Check-in and check-out dates that cover your planned stay
- The number of guests and a booking reference
For more detail on how consulates read these documents, see our Schengen hotel booking guide and 5 details embassies check on a hotel voucher.
Common mistakes with Paris bookings
- Dates that differ from your flight. See why matching dates matters.
- A multi-country trip with only one city shown. Show accommodation across your route in order.
- Staying with a host but submitting a hotel document. Provide the host documents your consulate asks for.
- Presenting a reservation as a paid stay. Describe it honestly if you are asked.
How DummyHotelTicket helps

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid hotel booking for a France Schengen visa?
Checklists differ by consulate and application centre. Read yours carefully. If it requires a confirmed booking, use a refundable real booking.
Can I show one hotel for the whole trip?
Only if you are staying in one place. For a multi-city trip, show where you stay in each location.
Does a hotel document guarantee my visa?
No. The decision depends on your whole application.
